Surroundings: Cultural activities in Germany

The city Auerbach, close to the border between Germany and the Czech Replublic, has many cultural hot spots. Do you want to experience a guided city tour? There are different kinds of tours in Auerbach, one of which is a historic tour that includes music. Historical facts and episodes are accompanied with ancient music.

If you’re into theatrical performances or high quality music concerts you can visit the Göltzschtalgalerie in the Nicolai Church in Auerbach. Also, the St. Laurentius Church organises church concerts regularly.

In August you can come celebrate the historical ‘Altmarkfest’ (first weekend) and/or on the traditional pots market (third weekend) in Auerbach. On the third sunday of September there’s a fair.

During the winter there also are fun activities. From the first advent Sunday you’ll find a Christmas exhibition in the town’s museum. On first advent Sunday you can visit the fairy tale parade, on second advent Sunday there is a mine parade. Of course there is a Christmas market as well. And it’s mentioned as the most beautiful Christmas market in German Vogtland.

At the end of January you can experience the world championships North combination in Klingenthal, and during the summer you can view the indoor summer ski jumping in the Vogtland Arena.
